Last updated 17 October 2026

SnapRooster helps you see what you eat: you snap or describe your food, and it estimates the calories and nutrients. Your food is personal, so we keep this simple: we use your data only to run the app for you, we never sell it, and we never show you ads.

Who we are

SnapRooster is run by Prabhakaran D, an individual developer. Questions or requests: get2jawa@gmail.com.

What we keep

  • Your Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile photo. We never see your Google password.
  • Your food: photos you snap, what you type or say about a meal, and the estimates (calories, protein, carbs, fat and so on), with the date, time and meal.
  • Things you choose to add: body measurements such as weight, your health profile and goals, saved recipes and foods, notes about places you ate.
  • Reminders: your reminder choices and meal times, and a notification address for your phone, so reminders can reach it.

When you speak instead of typing, your voice is turned into text as you talk. We keep the text, not the recording.

How we use it

  • To estimate calories and nutrients and show your day, week and progress.
  • To send the reminders you turned on. Notifications never show what you ate, because they can appear on your lock screen.
  • To show your food to the people you choose to share it with, and to nobody else.

Who else processes it

We use a few trusted services to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • OpenAI: analyses food photos, text and voice to estimate nutrition.
  • Supabase: our database and private photo storage (servers in Mumbai, India).
  • Vercel: hosts the app.
  • Google: sign-in. Apple and web browsers: deliver notifications.

Who can see your food

Only you, plus anyone you share with in the app (for example a family member). You can stop sharing at any time. Prabha, who runs the app, can access data only to fix problems or when you ask for help.

How long we keep it

  • Food photos are deleted automatically after 30 days. The food entries and their estimates stay until you delete them.
  • Everything else stays while you have an account.

Your choices

  • Download your data from Settings → Account.
  • Delete your account in Settings → Account. This permanently deletes your food, photos, measurements and profile.
  • Turn reminders off in Settings → Reminders, or in your phone's settings.
  • Email us to ask about, correct or delete any of your data.

Children

SnapRooster is not meant for children under 13.

Not medical advice

Estimates are a guide, not a measurement, and the app doesn't give medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian about medical or diet decisions.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
